Drug induced esophagitis usually resolves readily when causative agents are discontinued
8 March, 2010: The most important clinical step in the management of drug-induced esophagitis is to make the right diagnosis, according to a summary of published studies. In most cases, injury resolves within a few days without intervention. Usually the diagnosis can be made by history alone. However, there is a small but clinically significant risk of persistent esophagitis and stricture formation when damage caused by an agent such as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug is exacerbated by concomitant gastroesophageal reflux disease.

A rare case of duodenal pseudomelanosis
2 March, 2010: Mucosal pigmentation is rarely seen in the upper GI tract, but is well known in the colon and rectum. The diffuse dark mucosal stain of melanosis coli is a late manifestation of many years use of purgatives. Here is presented a rare case characterized endoscopically by dark specks in the small bowel mucosa, seen in the duodenum and further down into the jejunum.
